Tangier Holly Run
The Tangier Holly Run, an annual tradition since 1966, has evolved to add traditions such as Santa flying-in, a Christmas church service, and of course, a crab cake lunch. The Holly Run has also evolved into a fundraiser to help provide critical services to elderly and often widowed island residents. The run teams up with the Carlisle Mission Team, a group of church-goers representing five churches from Pennsylvania. They donate part of their summer helping the people of Tangier by building handicap ramps, repairing, and doing other needed services on the island. All funds donated by Holly Run participants support this work.
