From Accomack County Schools: Virtual Learning Day for Wednesday, February 19. Due to the Winter Storm Warning and Governor Youngkin’s announcement, tomorrow, Wednesday February 19 will be a virtual day of instruction for all students and 10 month staff.

Posted below is an updated briefing from National Weather Service Wakefield, VA as of 4PM, Tuesday, February 18, highlighting the potential impacts from a winter storm beginning tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and continuing into Thursday.
What Has Changed:
- Winter Storm Warnings have been expanded to include more of the VA Piedmont, the Richmond Metro, parts of the Northern Neck and Lower Maryland Eastern Shore
- Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for Fluvanna, Louisa, Western Hanover, Caroline and Dorchester Counties
- Heaviest snow is still forecast over SE VA and NE NC. Lowest forecast snowfall north and west of Richmond.
Key Points:
- A significant winter storm is expected across much of the area beginning tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and continuing into Thursday morning or early afternoon with heavy snowfall expected
- The entire area will be impacted by snow, with the heaviest snowfall expected across south central VA, the Tidewater, Hampton Roads, the Peninsula, Virginia Eastern Shore and NE North Carolina where 5 to 10 inches (locally higher) of snow is expected. Other areas north and west are expected to see 2 to 6 inches of snow
- Travel will be extremely dangerous, especially during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes, due to the heavy snowfall
- Light ice accumulations are possible across interior northeast North Carolina, but primarily snow is expected with this storm
- Marine Weather: Small craft advisory conditions are expected in the bay tonight into Wed morning with northerly gusts to 20 kt. Small craft advisory conditions expected across the entire waters Wednesday night into Thu with north winds gusting to 20 to 25 kt. NW gales are possible Thu afternoon/Thu night.
