Tangier Town Council Meeting February 13; Weather Updates

Tangier Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Tangier Combined School. As soon as an agenda is ready, it will be posted to the website.

In other news, it snowed Tuesday — a couple inches or so. Accomack County Public Schools closed two-hours early due to the weather. The district advised parents to stay tuned to its Robocall notifications or social media for updates.

On another school note, the School Board voted to designate President’s Day (Feb. 17), and the Monday following Easter Sunday (April 21) as the two make-up snow days. Those two days will now be regular in-session school days.

Council member Sharon Haynie shared these photos. If you have photos or news tips about the island, please send them to mileslayton1969@gmail.com
