Town Hall will be closed Wednesday and reopen Thursday afternoon, per Council member Sharon Haynie.
Tangier Town Council met Tuesday — more on that to come.
As soon as the meeting’s minutes are available for publication, the minutes will be published on the website, same as they were for the council meeting earlier this month.
As a small taste of what happened at Tuesday’s meeting, Haynie said Council approved hiring Connie Barnes to audit the town’s finances. Barnes has extensive knowledge of the variety of funding types that local governments deal with regularly.
Also, Haynie said Tangier’s official website – tangiervirginia.org – received praise from the council. Thx

On that note, news from Tangier Combined School about the achievements of the students, staff and teachers would be most welcome for the website. Same goes for church news and prayer lists.
Today’s photos come from Carol Pruitt-Moore. Our featured photo is of dolphins swimming in the Chesapeake Bay while the other photos are of Daughters of the American Revolution and Tangier Combined School from back in the day.
